… aber eigentlich kauf ich ne neue Festplatte und lager die alten Daten nur um. “Männer schmeissen nichts weg!” ist so einfach geworden in der heutigen Zeit. Speicherplatz ist billig. Einen Vorteil hat das alles aber auch. Ich finde alte Daten wieder. Nicht wo ich sie suche, mehr so zufällig.

sometimes i do clean out my HDD, but most of the time i only get a new, bigger drive to rearange the data ;). Storage is cheap as long as it stays digital. Sometimes searching for one thing reveals something different. Old gems.

Neues update - model WIP

Moin,

leider bin ich nicht so schnell wie gehofft mit den Modellen. Jetzt gibt es erstmal ein kleines Update.
Fireface
Die Figur entstand nach einer Skizze die ich vor einigen Monaten mal gemacht habe. Ich möchte einen Look erreichen der die flüssige Bewegung von Flammen auf einer Figur darstellt. Nicht einfach in Worte zu fassen und auch nicht einfach in ein Modell zu fassen. Egal.
hier die ersten WIP Bilder. An den Texturen arbeite ich noch. Momentan bin ich mit dem look der Figur recht zufrieden. Der Aufbau des shaders stellt sich aber zunehmend als Herrausforderung dar.

sorry but i realise i’m not that fast modelling as i hoped to be. I’ve made a small update.

The model is made after a little sketch i did some month ago in my real sketchbook. I like to have the look of fluid fire dynamics combined with a figur and it’s face. Not easy to desrcibe it in words and even harder to model. Anyway, some WIP images are ready for you.
Right now i’m working on a shader to combine the geometry with some nice lighting of fire. I like the look of the face though it’s lacking a little detail. Building the shader seems to be also a big task.

2008 07 07 - Updates dauern ein wenig ;)

leider brauch ich im Moment meine Renderzeit mit einigen Projekten völlig auf. Ich modelle zwar fröhlich weiter, aber für das ausleuchten bleibt keine Minute frei.

2008 07 03 - One model a day ;)

… so, geht weiter.

Nächstes Modell. Ich hab mir noch keine Gedanken darüber gemacht ob ich zu jedem Modell schreibe was mir durch den Kopf ging oder woher die Idee kam.
Bei diesem Kerlchen bin ich mir auch noch nicht ganz sicher. Ich denke ab morgen werde ich versuchen mit ein wenig mehr Konzept an die Sache zu gehen.

… and here we go.

Next day, next model. I haven’t really thought about wether to write a concept for every character and what went through my head while doing it. For this little fellow i’m not sure either. I think tomorrows session will start with a concept.

2008 07 02 - One model a day ;)

ich hab mal wieder in einige alte Forenbeiträge geschaut und die Idee gefasst einen kleinen Challenge zu wiederholen. Im letzten Jahr gab es auf dem Cgtalk.com 30 models 30 days. Ich fand die Idee damals toll - mit Einschränkungen. Ein Skizzenbuch in 3D zu handhaben liegt mir sehr. Ich möchte aber nicht eingeschränkt werden in den Themen zu denen ich etwas machen will. Also flink kopiert die Idee und den Versuch gestartet durchzuhalten.

after reading through some old forumpost i came up with the idea to repeat a small challenge. Last year the guys over at cgtalk.com had this nice one called 30 models 30 days. I really liked the idea but didn’t get very far. I like sketching in 3d but also with my own themes unlike this challenge. So now - idea copied and let’s get ready.

2008 01 30 - not so fast model - old fellow

ich hab eine Skizze fertig. Eigentlich als Speedmodell begonnen und danach dann doch fast vergessen. Das Modell ist in Mudbox entstanden. Rendering dann in C4d.

2008 01 24 - hand model

Wie in einem normalen Skizzenbuch müssen hier auch Studien gezeigt werden. Das Basismodell für die Hand ist in c4d entstanden. Detail dann in Zbrush.

As in every sketchbook studies needs to be made alot. The base for the Hand was made in c4d, detailing after that was made in Zbrush.

2008 01 21 - speedmodel

Ein Alien für den Anfang. Viel mehr gibts dazu auch nicht zu sagen. 30 Minuten in mudbox. Im Moment werde ich noch ein paar mehr Speedmodels machen da mir die Inspiration für ander Dinge fehlt, also macht euch darauf gefasst mehr davon zu sehen. Rendering in C4d, was sonst.

Alien creature for a start. Not much else to tell about it. 30 min Mudbox model. Right now i like to work some speedmodels as a real task for 3D work is missing for me. Prepare to see some more of these. Rendered in c4d as always.

Start all over again / und auf ein Neues

Der Start eines neuen Sketchbooks. Ich bin von verschiedenen selbstgebauten Seiten nun auf ein WP umgestiegen um weniger an der Seite zu spielen. Content soll hier hoffentlich regelmä�ig erscheinen.
